This ceremony is called Ngarantika or 'Gawai padi'. Being celebrate by the Bidayuh Selako people in Kpg. Sebako 1 weeks before paddy harvesting.
In the past, Kpg. Sebako will be close from any visit from outsider during this time before paddy harvesting.
Many thing shoudnt be done during Ngarantika such as not allow to take certain leaves from jungle, cant chop down the bamboo tree and people will pray to avoid bad omen befall them.This picture is taken during my fieldwork, Joint Unimas and University of Copenhagen in Kpg Sebako, Sarawak, Malaysia from 5-16 March 2010.
